2014 Registration Requirements

  1. Online registration.
  2. Supplementary material to upload during online registration:
  • Statement of your musical goals and a list of your accomplishments
  • Repertoire List (what you have played in the past, solo and/or chamber works; indicate with an asterisk* the pieces you have been working on for the past year)
  • Recommendation letter from current private teacher
  • A digital photo of yourself, from which a photo ID will be generated. The photo must be full-face view directly facing the camera with both eyes open, no glasses, and no hat or head covering that obscures or shadows your face. (Head coverings worn daily for religious purpose are allowed.)
  1. Composers:
  • Specify your instrument, as composition students are encouraged to play with the ensemble to enjoy additional opportunities for performance and study. A recording of your playing, lasting no less than ten and no more than fifteen minutes. (It doesn’t have to be professional!) Video is preferred.
  • Two sample compositions with PDF scores and mp3 recordings, if available. Acceptable formats:
    • Audio or Video: mp3 to be uploaded during the online registration process
    • Compositions: PDF to be uploaded during the online registration process
  1. Instrumentalists:
  • A recording of your playing, lasting no less than ten and no more than fifteen minutes. (It doesn’t have to be professional!) Video is preferred.
  • Repertoire requirements:
    • Piano: Your recording must include three contrasting selections of music: a solo Bach work, one movement of a classical period work, and one work of your choice in a style that contrasts with the others.
    • Violin, viola, cello: Your recording must include three contrasting selections: a solo Bach work, a classical period work, and one work of your choice in a style that contrasts with the others.
    • Double bass, winds, brass: Your recording must include two contrasting pieces or movements that represent your level of accomplishment.
  1. Singers: A recording of your singing. (It doesn’t have to be professional!) There are no repertoire requirements however recording should consist of two contrasting styles of songs that best represent the applicant’s level and accomplishment.
  1. Payment. Tuition is due at 11:59 p.m. EST on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Pay tuition by Friday, February 28, 2014 and save $60! Registration ends Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Registration Process
  1. Click “register now” above and create an account.
  2. Complete the registration.
  3. Pay the $65 registration fee.
  4. Click on the link provided at the end of the registration form. In order to secure your place in the Young Artist Summer Program you must pay the tuition by clicking on the appropriate links at the end of the registration form. No audition is required for admission.
  5. Pay the tuition and housing before February 28, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST to save $60. Starting March 1, 2014, $60 will be added as a March and April registration payment fee. Registration ends Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
