Which instruments are included in this program?

Is there a minimum level required to apply? Are beginners or advanced beginners welcome?

All levels are welcome to participate. Participants will be grouped in chamber ensembles by playing level to ensure maximum enjoyment for all.

Is enrollment limited to a specific number of participants?

To keep our ensembles intimate, we will accept a maximum of 30 participants. We encourage you to apply early as spaces are limited.

When will repertoire be assigned?

We will assign repertoire in April. After receiving repertoire assignments participants will have at least seven weeks to prepare.

Are there private lesson opportunities?

The schedule will be busy and probably will not allow time for private instruction.

Is an audition required?

No audition is required for admission, but we will ask each participant to submit a sample of his or her playing. This will inform decisions on ensemble assignments.

Are scholarships available?

Curtis Summerfest does not offer scholarships . Students and parents are urged to seek financial assistance from local sources such as school music organizations; county, state, or national music education organizations; youth orchestras and bands; music clubs; service clubs (Rotary, Kiwanas, etc.); businesses; local churches; and foundations.

Are refunds available to those who must withdraw after registering for the workshop?

We offer no refunds of any kind, including for dismissal due to violation of rules or state, federal, or local laws. There are no refunds for early departure. Exceptions may be made only in the event of a documented medical emergency, in which case room and board may be refunded on a prorated basis only. No participant will be admitted until all fees are paid in full.
