All students (of any age) who will be living in campus housing must submit proof of 1 dose of a meningococcal vaccine that, at minimum, covers serogroups A, C, Y, and W-135. The meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4, such as Menactra or Menveo) is preferred, but the meningococcal polysaccharide vaccine (MPSV4, such as Menomune) is acceptable. Students are exempt from this requirement only if there is a medical contraindication to vaccination or if religious beliefs prohibit immunization. All requests for exemption must be accompanied by a signed copy of the Meningococcal Vaccine Waiver Form in accordance with the College and University Student Vaccination Act. Due to the short time frame of summer-only residential programs, students enrolled in these programs must be in compliance prior to arrival on campus.
If a participant is not covered by health insurance, parent or guardian must provide a statement accepting financial responsibility for emergency care.
Summer Program Assistants act as Residence Life coordinators during Curtis Summerfest. An SPA will be on call 24/7 during your stay at Lenfest Hall. SPAs are selected on the basis of their interpersonal skills and their ability to contribute to life at Lenfest Hall. They are specially trained to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and otherwise serve the needs of residents; their chief concern is the comfort and safety of the residents. They also assist in publicizing and implementing housing policies, enforcing rules, and planning activities.
